ICTC Webinar: Privacy Obligations for Small Businesses

By 19 February 2016 No Comments

Are you a small business owner in Canada? Is your business doing enough to ensure that private information remains private?

To answer these questions and more, the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) will be hosting a webinar featuring a presentation by Brent Homan, Director General of PIPEDA Investigations from the federal privacy commissioner’s office. The presentation will cover what businesses need to know about their privacy obligations under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act (PIPEDA), the federal private sector privacy law.

The presentation is a great opportunity for you to hear about effective privacy protective measures and to learn from key privacy investigations. Mr. Homan has seen firsthand how privacy complaints can seriously impact a small business. He’ll share some lessons learned from investigations and offer practical advice that small businesses can put to use right away.
