Over 360,700 (40%) Internationally Educated Professionals are employed in ICT jobs in the digital economy in Canada with a jobless rate as low as 3.7%, compared to 7.9% in the overall Canadian labour market.

ICTC has connections with employers nationwide, and these connections have expressed interest in hiring global talent.

TOP ICT JOBS FOR IMMIGRANTS (as of May 2016)

  1. Information Systems Analyst and Consultant
  2. Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
  3. Software Engineers
  4. User Support Technicians
  5. Computer and Information Systems Managers

ICTC’s Immigration Initiatives help Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs) and provide the essential support needed for newcomers to obtain and grow in tech careers in Canada. For the past 5 years, ICTC’s IT Bridge to Employment Program called IWES has a success rate of over 85% of graduates having landed jobs, commensurate with experience, with an average starting salary of $50,000.

The IWES program offers 3 weeks of full time in-class training in resume, interview skills, networking and job search techniques, LinkedIn and social media use, Canadian Cultural Communication, recruiter visits plus so much more. If that wasn’t enough, participants also get SCRUM Fundamentals training and certification.

The IWES Program fee is $399.00 plus HST (a $4,500 value). Next Intake starts: August 8, 2016

Space is limited!!! A maximum of 15 people are accepted per intake! Miss this one and the next one isn’t until October 3, 2016

Once the three weeks of in-classroom training is done, participants get matched with a corporate professional who will coach them towards their goals. This coaching relationship will support the IEP in achieving their goals – be it obtaining a job, retaining a job or anything else that is important to them.

While all this is going on, ICTC forwards resumes and networks on the participants’ behalf – all to connect graduates with opportunities for employment.

IWES has experience and success with people from around the world such as: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam, and more.

A SUCCESS STORY – AFTER 9 MONTHS OF SEARCHING, IT COUPLE BOTH GET EMPLOYMENT BEFORE COMPLETING PROGRAM

A couple from the Philippines had a mainframe background and, after being in Canada for 9 months without successfully finding employment in the ICT field, they were discouraged. They heard about the program from a friend and registered. After completing the 3 week in classroom and during their 3 month coaching relationship, they both received full time job offers, in their field, at salary levels commensurate with their experience.
