- Big Data Sub-Sector Study – ICTC has begun its national study on Big Data to understand Canada’s transition to an intelligence economy. With demand for real-time intelligence intensifying, the study will explore the economic impact of Big Data on businesses and the labour market. - Digital Health in Canada – Exploratory Analysis of Canada’s Domestic Health ICT Sector. The purpose of this study is to provide a profile of Canada’s current domestic health ICT sector, understand its impact on the national economy as well as its future outlook. This study, albeit exploratory in nature, contributes new knowledge to Canada’s domestic health ICT sector. Funding provided by Canada Health Infoway.
- Digital Economy Supply – Canada’s Post-Secondary Education Stream – To better understand the supply-side dynamics of skilled ICT talent, this study concentrates on: (a) the supply flow of talent from Canada’s post-secondary education system, and (b) labour market intelligence outlining the way forward to enable better decision making by the private sector, education system, policymakers, and all Canadians for a more productive, innovative, and globally competitive Canadian economy.
- Artificial Intelligence – Despite these huge strides in Artificial Intelligence, a key question remains with respect to Canada’s readiness to embrace the transformative nature of AI in an increasingly global and competitive environment. ICTC has conducted a research and published a white paper to understand the current ecosystem of AI in Canada and to raise awareness about the potential actions that can support its development and adoption. In addition, a blog piece explores the question “Are we ready for AI?” with a reference to recent debates and controversies.
- Digital Economy Annual Review 2015 – ICTC’s Digital Economy Annual Review 2015 explores broad trends of recent years as well as looking ahead to 2015 and beyond in Canada’s digital economy with respect to economic impact, labour market, technology adoption, and more. This report is beneficially read in the context of ICTC’s related recent research exploring long term labour market outlook, talent solutions, and the adoption of digital technology by Canadian enterprises of all sizes.
- Mobile Payments – ICTC is closely monitoring ongoing developments in the mobile payments market and will release a mini-report exploring this increasingly competitive space. With Apple Pay expected to enter the Canadian market later this year, ICTC explores what this means for existing legislation and for retail banks.
