Building a stronger economy through a balanced workforce
With Canada’s digital economy facing a skills shortage, finding the right technical employee to fit your company’s needs has never been more competitive and difficult. And with technology becoming more prevalent in every sector of Canada’s economy, sectors such as Manufacturing, Construction, Natural Resources, and Trades are also contending for top tech talent.
ICTC’s Advancing Tech Women initiative (ATW) is focused on empowering you and preparing your company to be able to leverage all talent sources to meet your current and future technical needs so you can attract and retain the best. Through ATW, you can share and learn insights; provide and receive guidance and support in developing your hiring and retention practices and processes and share with us what tools and resources would be useful for us to develop to support your technical workforce needs.
Join us this month in Winnipeg, MB, Toronto, ON and St. John, NB to network with colleagues and discuss promising practices, and potential challenges when trying to diversify the workforce, and provide input regarding helpful resources. We welcome representatives from all sectors looking to hire technology talent.

Needs Assessment Survey
ICTC has also created a Needs Assessment Survey that will paint an overall picture of the activities and programs organizations and individuals believe are important in creating more opportunities for diversity, inclusion and gender balance.
Taking less than 10 minutes of your time, this Needs Assessment Survey will help shape the activities and programs that support you in reflecting on potential gaps, opportunities, and steps required to build a more gender-balanced workforce. The survey can be found here.
Organizational Benchmark Survey – it’s all about you
Without data, it is almost impossible to know where to start! Making it relevant to your specific needs is key to developing solutions that will work within your organization’s culture. This survey is designed to take a deeper look at your company’s demographics and gain a comprehensive view of your current workforce in terms of diversity and gender. Again, the time required is minimal and it’s a free assessment with invaluable results!
